BBTech Laptop Inspection Tool: driver inspection and official-source repair for refurbished laptops
Desktop inspection tool that finds and repairs driver problems on refurbished laptops from official sources only, with a report per machine.
A Windows 10 and 11 desktop application for BBTech's laptop refurbishment line, written in Python with PySide6. One read-only PowerShell and WMI pass collects the laptop's identity and every device, classifies each into a hardware category, grades its driver as OK, missing, error, disabled, generic or outdated, and resolves the right package from the Lenovo, Dell and HP catalogues or Windows Update. Fix Driver Issues runs find, download, install and verify behind an HTTPS allow-list with hash and Authenticode checks, and reports Installed only when Windows confirms it. Reports export as PDF, TXT, CSV and JSON, history stays in local SQLite, and the tool ships as an installer and as a portable single EXE for the BBTech USB drive. Version 1.0.0 with 98 automated tests.
Design and implementation: hardware collection and classification, driver resolution adapters, download and install safety, the verification workflow, the Qt interface, packaging and documentation.
